These drivers (for LabVIEW 7.0 and above) have been adopted to always load a virtual COM-port (VCP) driver for the FTDI USB interface IC's (overriding the interface selected in the devices EEPROM). Because of the change to the drivers INF-file, it is no longer Microsoft Windows WHQL Certified. Thus, when installing a warning pop-up will appear. This is nothing to worry about. Now, the devices are accessable through both the virtual COM-port (VCP) and the direct access (D2XX) interfaces, as long as one doesn't use both at the same time. Remarks: The direct access (D2XX) driver is always installed. The VCP driver is only installed when this is set in the connected devices EEPROM. But, only the newer devices from FTDI have such a setting in EEPROM (FT232R, FT245R and FT2232C). For the older devices (FT232BM, FT245BM, FT8U232AM and FT8U245AM) a VCP driver is installed by default.
