Sodern, in Paris France, is a subsidiary of EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space company) and CEA (French Atomic Energy Agency), and is a renowned manufacturer of attitude sensors for satellites. 
Sodern’s new Earth Attitude Sensor is intended to position satellites with respect to the earth. 

Xensor has developed the revolutionary heart for this instrument: a Focal Plane Array infrared silicon detector. The compact design of the FPA-detector allows an equipment which is fully static and much smaller and lighter (1 kg) than previous models, important in a business where each kg counts.
